Overview
Telemetry RN’s monitor patients’ vital signs by reading and analyzing an electrocardiogram, or another life sign-measuring device. Tele RN’s are required for post-ICU care. Tele RN’s monitor critically ill patients: most are cardiac cases. Tele RN’s typically work in a hospital setting. Tele RN’s care for patients who are out of the ICU, but need their vital signs monitored closely (after surgery, for example).
Responsibilities- Monitor patients’ vital signs and trends using ECGs or other life sign-measuring devices in a hospital setting (post-ICU and after surgery).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education
- You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
- RN‘s can only work with an active state license.
- ACLS and TELE are often required
Tele - 4/5:1 days; 5/6:1 nights. Floating may be requested.
