The Surgical Progressive Care Department (PCU) at Banner University Medical Center‑Phoenix provides a solid cardiac foundation that creates an outstanding cardiac nurse who can leverage this experience to advance in areas such as the Intensive Care Units (ICU), Emergency Department (ED) and Operating Room (OR). PCU nurses are highly recruited for their critical thinking skills, which are developed through the acuity of patients we care for.
We are currently seeking experienced PCU Nurses but at this time we are accepting applications for those that have Telemetry, ICU, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Medical/Surgical or any other acute or critical care background.
As a Surgical PCU Registered Nurse, you will care for a wide variety of patients, such as vascular, cardio‑thoracic surgical, heart transplantation, and heart failure, and offer treatment modalities such as Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) and TAH (Total Artificial Heart). Our academic model and teaching orientation supports learning at all levels, and is truly a collaborative environment between nursing, physicians and other therapies.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in our Nursing Clinical Ladder Program, a tool that recognizes nurses that demonstrate contributions to patients, profession, and society above and beyond job requirements. This opening is for a PART‑TIME Night Shift opening and will require 2 shifts per week from 7 pm‑7:30 am, with weekends and holidays included on a rotating basis. You will also have the opportunity to utilize our self‑scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. Enjoy an 18 % night shift differential and a flat rate $3 / hour weekend shift differential.
