Whether it's a scorpion sting, medication question, first aid advice or potential poisoning, the Banner Poison & Drug Information Center in Phoenix, Arizona is available 24/7 with comprehensive resources and services. Our AAPCC-certified poison center is a large and active center serving Maricopa county's population of greater than 4 million residents. BPDIC is located on the campus of Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix, a Magnet hospital and “Best Hospital” recognition in U.S. News and World Report.

Our center is associated with an active inpatient toxicology service and fellowship program and participates with training nursing, pharmacy, and medical students. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

This position is responsible for direct care and triage concerning poison exposures received via a 24-hour emergency telephone line. The incumbent triages and provides accurate and complete management information directly to the public, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, emergency medical personnel, and other health care providers. When a poison exposure has occurred, makes a toxicological assessment, recommends a treatment plan, and provides necessary documentation and follow up to ensure a positive outcome.

This full time
32 hrs/week , 4‑8 hr day shifts, every other weekend, hours will vary from 7:30 a‑4 p, 8:30 a‑5 p, or 9:30 a‑6 p, ideal for Registered Nurse with experience in a Critical Care Unit or Emergency Department and/or prior Poison Information Center experience who wants to provide direct patient care through telehealth. This position offers partial remote shifts after sufficient experience is gained (typically through one year of working at the Poison Center).
