Job Summary & Responsibilities
As our Oncology Acute Nurse at Dignity Health St. Joes, you are committed to providing the highest level of patient satisfaction in a 32‑Bed Medical‑Surgical‑Oncology‑Telemetry unit that includes 12 monitored beds. The role offers unique cross‑training opportunities for experienced and new graduate nurses within this single unit. You will coordinate, supervise, and implement patient care based on competence, professional expertise, knowledge, and evidence‑based practice.
Success comes from your enthusiasm to help others, a patient‑first mindset, keen assessment skills, critical thinking, and a sense of urgency.
Expect to deliver care to 4–6 patients per shift.
- Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation.
- Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory, respiratory therapy, and imaging.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- AZ RN license or RN license from a Compact State.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification (in monitored areas).
- Chemotherapy certification.
- One year of recent acute care experience.
- One year of oncology experience.
- BSN.
