Registered Nurse - Medical Oncology Ortho
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Executive Director of Nursing (Ambulatory), the Advanced Clinical Nurse delivers high-quality, age-appropriate nursing care in close collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. This role provides comprehensive patient care across the continuum, including thorough assessments, medication administration, identification of nursing diagnoses, development and implementation of individualized plans of care, and the appropriate delegation of care in accordance with Valley wise Health policies and standards.
The Advanced Clinical Nurse serves as a strong patient advocate and educator, ensuring patients and families are informed, supported, and actively engaged in their care. Responsibilities also include accurate and timely documentation, indirect supervision of ancillary staff as assigned, and active participation in team‑based initiatives that promote safety, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
This position exemplifies professional nursing practice by demonstrating clinical expertise, accountability, and compassionate care within a diverse healthcare environment. In addition, the Advanced Clinical Nurse contributes to the advancement of professional practice through leadership, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous performance and process improvement, helping to deliver meaningful, cost‑effective healthcare for the communities served.
Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
Qualifications Education- Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
- Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities, or if completed the New Graduate RN program at Valley wise Health then must have at least one (1) year of Valley wise Health experience as a RN and be in good standing.
- Previous acute care hospital experience in the area he or she is applying for is preferred.
- Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, a temporary AZ RN license, or a valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
- Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
- Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
- In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on the area of practice:
- Medical Oncology Ortho: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain an ONS (Chemotherapy Biotherapy Card) within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
- Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.
- Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
