Work Shift: Weekend (Saturday & Sunday, 8:00am‑8:30pm; one 12‑hour shift Monday‑Friday)

Banner Estrella Medical Center is a 317‑bed Magnet‑recognized facility in Southwest Phoenix that is accredited for stroke, chest pain, and pediatric preparedness. In this position, you will provide nursing support to several procedural areas:
Cardiology, Radiology, Endoscopy, and Medical Imaging.

In this role, you will work in the Cath Lab 36 hours per week, providing pre‑op and recovery care for patients from Cath Lab, IR, and Endoscopy. Responsibilities include groin care, TR band placement, sheath pulls, reading cardiac strips, collecting labs, organizing patient schedules, managing calls, reporting, and arranging transport.

Work Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing patients for procedures and monitor them post‑procedure and post‑sedation across cardiology, radiology, endoscopy, and medical imaging units.
  • Perform pre‑op and recovery tasks for Cath Lab, IR, and Endoscopy patients, including groin care, TR band placement, sheath pulls, reading cardiac strips, lab drawing, scheduling, reporting, and transport coordination.
  • Coordinate care and recovery of patients during weekend shifts, including naps, meals, and appropriate monitoring.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care continuity.
  • Follow all safety and quality protocols, including BLS and specialty certification requirements.
Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice; a temporary/interim RN license or compact RN licensure is acceptable. BLS certification is required. Additional certifications or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.

Must have at least 2 years of experience in Cath Lab, PACU, ICU, or ED environments. Experience working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
