We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Registered Nurse to join our CCBD Clinic at the Arrowhead location. This role provides direct clinical care to children receiving hematology and oncology treatments in an outpatient clinic setting.
Position Details32 hours per week
8-hour shifts
7 shifts per pay period (4 days one week, 3 days the next)
Fully benefited position
No weekends, no holidays, and no call
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to pediatric Hem Onc patients
- Administer treatments and therapies per established protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary team members
- Support patients and families throughout their treatment journey
- Maintain accurate documentation and adherence to clinical standards
- Complete nursing assessment of patients and families consistent with age and condition
- Synthesize data to determine nursing diagnoses, prioritize needs, and develop a nursing plan of care
- Implement plans of care in accordance with regulatory and organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Provide health education related to health promotion and management of acute and chronic health conditions
- Coordinate care and manage transitions within the organization and the community, working collaboratively with the healthcare team, patient, and family
- Advocate for patients and families, offering support and guidance related to navigating ambulatory services and processes, resource management, and community-based services
- Continuously evaluate patient understanding and response to the plan of care; share observations and assessment outcomes with the healthcare team, patient, and family to ensure timely communication and understanding of health status, progress, and ongoing needs
- Modify nursing diagnoses and plan of care based on re-evaluation; document in the medical record
- Facilitate the delivery of safe patient care, monitoring quality and regulatory indicators, and working with leaders to identify process improvement opportunities
- Supervise patient care activities of assigned team members and delegate activities appropriate to knowledge, skill, and competency; provide timely feedback and review of care delivery to ensure maintenance of patient safety, infection control procedures, therapeutic environment, and team members performance level, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing required activities within established parameters to ensure compliance with all applicable medication, storage, and documentation standards, regulations, and requirements
- Foster a positive learning environment by modeling best practices and patient-centered care while providing guidance, training, and support to students and new employees through mentorship, clinical instruction, and knowledge sharing
- Perform miscellaneous job related duties as requested
- Active RN license (state-specific requirements apply)
- Pediatric Hematology/Oncology experience preferred
- APHON certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment
- Strong assessment, communication, and family-centered care skills
