RN - PCU-AZ

Job Summary

Provides specialized nursing care to patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) who require close monitoring and treatment for complex or moderately critical conditions. Performs comprehensive assessments, manages treatments, monitors patient status, and coordinates care with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• 1-2 years of PCU, step-down, telemetry, or acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Experience caring for patients requiring continuous cardiac and clinical monitoring is preferred.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• PCCN certification preferred.

• Assess and continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, respiratory status, and changes in patient condition.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments safely.
• Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, recovery, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow infection control, patient safety, and quality standards.
