American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 3+ years of high acuity L&D experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Trauma Level I facility
• Also covers Antepartum, LDRP, and Mother/Baby care
• Patient ratio of 1-2 couplets
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month required (Saturday/Sunday)
• No on-call requirements
• Occasional floating to Post Partum within scope
• Facility performs over 300 births per month

• Active AZ or compact RN license required in hand to apply
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, C-EFM, RNC-OB
• Minimum 3 years of high acuity L&D experience required; 2 years accepted if from a teaching or high-risk facility
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers considered with 5+ years of experience
• Epic charting experience preferred but other EMR experience accepted
• Skilled in sterile vaginal exams, NST, EFM/IUPC use, fetal heart rate pattern recognition, and amnioinfusion
• Experience assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Experience with neonatal care in the delivery room including cord care and newborn assessment
• Experience managing postpartum care for vaginal delivery, C-section, couplet care, multiples, and PIH
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and infusion pump use
• Experience with epidural/general anesthesia and pain management

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care across antepartum and newborn services
• Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, and newborn assessment and care
• Support includes discharge teaching, car seat education, and lactation support
• Holiday RTO requests reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
