Position: Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

Overview

East Maryland Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced full-time Veterinary Technician to join our team and assist our 4 doctors. The hospital provides medical, surgical and dental care as well as grooming and boarding for cats and dogs. We are AAHA accredited and value a positive, collaborative culture. Individual pay is determined by location and factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Background and drug screening are required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist doctors in exam rooms and in surgery
  • Provide routine patient care and maintain medical records
  • Collect diagnostic samples, perform laboratory analyses, and conduct diagnostic imaging
  • Communicate with clients, reviewing treatment plans and cost estimates
  • Address client concerns and patient needs
  • Educate pet owners about preventive medicine, common illnesses, and testing
  • Execute treatment orders as directed by a DVM (including placing IV catheters, phlebotomy, injections, perioperative nursing, etc.)
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Veterinary Technician Certification is not required but a plus
  • Prior veterinary experience required
  • Knowledge of animal care and handling
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a busy environment
  • AVImark software experience is a plus
Schedule & Location
  • 32–40 hours weekly
  • Monday to Friday with weekends on a rotational basis
  • In-person work located in Phoenix, AZ (85012)
Ability to Relocate
  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (
