Veterinary Technician II - Full Service Clinic

The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our Full Service Clinic. This position will report to the Full Service Marge Wright Veterinary Clinic and work Monday-Thursday from 7 AM – 6 PM with varying end times depending on clinic needs.

As a veterinary technician, you will assist veterinarians in all aspects of the clinic including surgery, laboratory diagnostics, fluid therapy, administration of medications, and client education while championing AHS' core values of innovation, compassion, and excellence. You will work alongside the team to ensure high levels of patient care and build relationships with veterinarians, technician staff, and leadership to solve problems and implement positive changes.
Job Requirements- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two years experience working as a veterinary technician at a full service clinic or hospital required.
- Ability to assist veterinarians in all aspects of AHS' wellness clinic including managing medical appointments, radiology, ultrasound, surgery, laboratory diagnostics, fluid therapy, urgent care as necessary, administration of prescribed medications, client education and clinic asepsis.
- Assist veterinarians and technicians in evaluation, surgery, and recovery for patients.
- Perform anesthesia prep, fluid therapy, laboratory procedures, injections, and medication administration.
- Proficient in radiology positioning.
- Proficient in monitoring vital signs of sedated and anesthetized patients during preoperative, operative, and postoperative phases.
- Proficient in laboratory testing and IDEXX/Antech machines.
- Ability to intubate animals, place intravenous catheters, perform venipuncture, and administer fluids.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
