Entry‑level role maintaining grounds at a cemetery or funeral home. Responsible for groundskeeping, maintenance, and overall appearance of the cemetery, mausoleum, or funeral home.

• Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes, trims shrubs, and tends flower beds; inspects work areas.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment including push and power mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and related power equipment.
• Removes debris and trash from grounds; may include turning down vases and removing wilted flowers.
• Participates on teams for openings and closings for interments, entombments, and inurnments.
• Assists in determining the location and layout of individual graves in compliance with verification procedures.
• May perform minor repairs to cemetery, building systems, or equipment.
• Assists with some duties associated with cremations, including inventory and compliance with federal and state regulations under supervision.
• Assists in moving and installing burial vaults.
  
  Ensures safety rules and compliance with corporate, federal, state, local regulations, OSHA, and safety guidelines.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months of relevant experience in landscaping, general construction, warehouse, or physical labor with steady employment.
• Funeral industry experience preferred.

• Operate hand‑held tools and equipment: shovel, pick, rake, sledgehammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower.
• Use measuring devices accurately (tape measure, yardstick, etc.).
• Work in extreme weather conditions.
• Physically agile and dexterous.
• Operate equipment safely and carefully.
• Work effectively with others to accomplish tasks.
• Communicate effectively with associates, contractor personnel, and client families.
• Basic computer skills for email communication.

Work Environment:

• Work outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions.
• Comply with field dress code policy.

Work Postures:

• Frequent standing up to six hours per day.
• Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently.

Physical Demands:

• Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds.

Work Hours:

• Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arises.
• Schedule may fluctuate to earlier or later shifts.
