General Statement:
The Grounds Quality Associate performs custodial services such as cleaning Zoo pathways, restrooms, office areas, and picnic areas, and disposes trash and recyclable materials.
Scheduling:
- Standard Shifts
- 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
- 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
- Event Shifts
- 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm
- 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Provides quality guest service to both internal and external guests by maintaining a WILD (friendly, helpful, positive, and professional) working attitude and appearance.
Cleans and maintains restrooms, eating areas, water fountains, offices, benches, signage, water fountains and Zoo grounds.
Pulls and disposes of trash and recycled materials from receptacles; washes and maintains receptacles.
Washes all applicable windows.
Performs set up and tear down of Zoo/ACNC events and meeting facilities; moves tables, chairs, heaters, etc.
Clears trash, leaves, dust and debris from sidewalks and pathways using blowers and brooms.
Sprays down areas with water as needed to remove bird feces, spills and debris.

Requirements:
- Previous custodial experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Must exhibit initiative and teamwork.
- Availability to work days, evenings, holidays, weekends, and varied schedules which may consist of days and evenings in the same week.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl and walk on uneven surfaces, and work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment background and DMV check, drug test, and annual TB test.
