QAQC Technician (Steel & Storage Tank Fabrications)

Overview:
Join to apply for the QAQC Technician role at MMI Tank Inc. The position involves executing the QAQC Manual controls, supervising amendments and revisions, and ensuring quality across fabrication from shop through finishing. This role ensures materials and workmanship meet applicable industry codes and standards, and requires coordination with Production, Shop, Coatings, Tank, and Millwright supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the execution of the Company's QAQC Manual Control, supervision of all amendments and revisions.
  • Control and distribution of all the Company's Quality Documentation.
  • Monitor all quality-related activities from shop fabrication through finishing operations.
  • Responsible for fabricated materials conforming to drawings, shop standards, customer satisfaction, applications, and maintaining records of the same.
  • Review quality inspection(s) required for each specific governing code.
  • Control the deposition of all issued nonconformance reports.
  • Verify the Company's quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractors through documentation submittals.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections of shop fabrication, weld preparations, and final welds. Witness all hydro testing and NDE inspections.
  • Prepare and control of project(s) quality system management documentation before project start.
  • Coordinate all QAQC activities with Production Mgr, Shop Mgr, Coatings Mgr, Tank Mgr, and Millwright Supervisor.
  • Ensure materials and workmanship meet applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Create and proofs all WPS and PQRs documents.
  • Assist shop personnel with the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.
  • Provide technical expertise, leadership, time management, problem-solving orientation, and computer literacy.
  • Review the employee training matrix to keep current welder recertification(s).
  • Work in conjunction with Production Mgr for shop welder testing, certification, and performance.
  • Review weekly shop production schedule, specific project welding requirements and QAQC specifications.
