Biomechanics Associate – Digital Health & Data Insights (Ph.D.)
Exponent is seeking an experienced Biomechanics Associate to join our Biomechanics Practice in Tampa, FL;
Natick, MA;
Farmington Hills, MI; or Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on human performance science, motion capture, exercise physiology, and smart wearable technologies.

Key Responsibilities- Design and execute human experiments to quantify and interpret health, wellness, and performance metrics within naturalistic movement environments.
- Research and analyze relevant scientific literature, biomechanical data, and injury mechanisms.
- Derive, analyze, and interpret complex technology-driven data streams related to human health and performance.
- Apply innovative data analysis techniques to understand health and performance outcomes across biomechanical and physiological data.
- Write proposals to initiate and support new opportunities in human performance technology sectors (clinical, military, consumer, sports).
- Communicate findings through written reports and presentations to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Participate in original research, publish papers, and present at conferences.
- Ph.D. in Biomechanics, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, Movement Science, Physical Therapy, or related field.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship required.
- Experience in human gait/movement, IMUs or wearable technologies, AI/ML in user research, human anatomy and physiology, and orthopedic biomechanics.
- Proficiency in study design, statistical analysis, and signal processing.
- Programming skills in Python or MATLAB, with emphasis on signal processing.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills with a broad professional network.

Compensation & BenefitsUSD $ – USD $ per year (base salary). Total compensation includes base salary, bi‑weekly bonuses, annual bonus, and 401(k) with 7% employer contribution.
