Your mission
We are looking for a Junior Application Scientist (m/f/d) with a strong focus on cell culture, single cell dispensing and technology validation.
Join our headquarters in Berlin (Germany) if you are passionate about biotechnology and new instrumentation that brings more automation and efficiency into drug discovery and single cell
-omics development workflows to produce therapeutic proteins, gene and cell therapies.
The ideal candidate is an analytical team player who feels comfortable working in a matrix environment. The candidate brings experience not only in mammalian cell culture and single cell cloning but is also tech‑savvy and familiar with verification and validation activities in product and feature development. This role will become a power user of our automation technologies. This is a hands‑on R&D position with great potential to shape the next generation of tools for life science!
Responsibilities- Work with our interdisciplinary R&D Team on the next generation products and protocols for cell line development and drug discovery
- Run verification and validation plans of new products, features and software
- Become an expert and power user of our latest technologies and upcoming products
- Verify and validate cell line development and assay protocols on automated platforms
- Proactively investigate and resolve problems, identifying root cause and proposing process improvements
- Culture basic and advanced cellular models with good laboratory practices
- Master’s degree in the field of biotechnology, molecular and cell biology or similar, or bachelor/BTA with at least 5 years of laboratory experience
- Proven experience in aseptic mammalian cell culture techniques
- Oids (spheroids, organoids, tumoroids) experience is a plus
- Track‑records of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments (fluorescence microscope, flow cytometer, liquid handler, laboratory robots) and associated software are desirable
- Experience in testing, verification and validation procedures of new products and features is desirable
- First experience with liquid handling equipment and microscopy techniques is a plus
- Getting‑Things‑Done mindset and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams. German is a plus
