Bij Ambitious Impact komt het idee vóór de oprichter: het onderzoeksteam zoekt uit welke gezondheidsaanpakken in lage- en middeninkomenslanden per euro het meeste opleveren, en pas daarna gaat een nieuwe organisatie er één uitvoeren. Wie dat onderzoek leidt, beslist dus mee welke goede doelen er komen. Omdat geldgevers als Give Well de aanbevelingen van dit programma serieus nemen, kan één goed onderbouwd advies uitgroeien tot een organisatie met jaren aan financiering.
