As a full‑time Assistant Store Manager you’ll provide the best shoe store experience for the whole family through customer engagement. In the absence of the Store Manager you’ll lead the shop, motivate the team, and drive sales and growth. You’ll develop and support an in‑store culture where customers say "I’ll take it" and keep our store, brands, and company life thriving.

What

You’ll Be Doing

• Inspire the Customer Connection: motivate associates, foster a culture of caring, and focus on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery.
• Champion Talent Discovery: actively recruit, interview, and hire passionate hires to elevate sales growth.
• Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: manage daily operations, pricing, inventory, and ensure staffing meets peak and seasonal needs.
• Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: own goals, apply insights, improve results, and drive sales.
• Be a Culture Builder: support diversity and inclusivity, maintain a positive mindset, and boost retention and performance.
• Serve as the Store Manager’s Right Hand: step in during their absence, uphold policies, and develop internal talent.

Preferred Qualifications & Education

• High School Diploma / GED.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail preferred).
• Interviewing, hiring, and training experience.
• Strong leadership, motivation, and communication skills.
• Ability to train and coach associates for engaging customer experience and operational excellence.
• Independent judgment and discretion with the Store Sales Manager.
• Problem‑solving, decision‑making, and financial analysis skills.
• Advanced knowledge of general retail practices.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends and extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements And/or Environment

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. from floor to shoulder height safely.
• Regular walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
• Experience in sales, especially retail, is required.
• Advanced retail practices knowledge and team leadership experience.
• Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training.
• Mentoring and training associates on selling and operations.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends and extended hours.
