• Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to ensure they get what they want and need.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products upon request.
• Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
• Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust and respect among staff.
• Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Adhere to safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
