Sales Specialists engage with customers throughout the store or garden center, answer calls, and advise on product specifications, promotions, and financing.
You will become a product expert, help customers close sales, and may work in one of several departments:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.
- Provide SMART customer service by engaging customers to understand needs and promote Lowe’s products and services.
- Serve as point of contact for customers and vendors, providing estimates, scheduling installers, processing orders, and ensuring project completion.
- If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales.
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate merchandise sourcing, and order replacement stock.
- Perform price reviews and maintain pricing documentation.
- Support checkout functions, call buttons, and other department requests for assistance.
- Train and coach associates on the sales floor.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of customer‑facing sales experience or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience (or 3 years of external sales experience or 18 months of Lowe’s retail experience if education requirement not met).
- 1 year of sales or customer service experience with sales goals or metrics.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Lift minimally 25 lbs unassisted or 25+ lbs with accommodations.
- Obtain sales‑related licensure or registration if required by state law (Lowe’s will support that).
- Experience completing customer sales orders.
- Promotion of product‑related services and plans (installation, delivery, finance, extended protection).
- Design experience using 20/20 or CAD for customized products.
- Professional certification in the relevant department.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
Occasional travel for meetings, training or supporting other stores may be required.
Working ConditionsWork may involve varying indoor/outdoor weather and noise. Employees follow guidelines for lifting (max 75 lbs) and may use powered equipment with proper training.
