Responsibilities- Perform site testing and conduct analyses work on a variety of development projects involving archaeological resources, historic structures, tribal resources and excavations
- Provide technical expertise to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of service deliverable documents
- Perform routine scientist assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects
- Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
- Travel with overnight stays for extended periods out of town
- Draft sketch maps of sites and complete field forms accurately and concisely
- Sit and use a computer for extended periods daily
- Commit to data confidentiality agreements and professional ethics standards
- Have a positive attitude with interest and willingness to learn and accept increasing responsibilities
- Perform other duties as needed
- Master's
- Previous work experience in cultural resource projects
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience performing cultural resources management work, preferably in Arizona
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
- Willingness to work under varied weather conditions
Successful candidates must be familiar with field study design and documentation, regulatory framework for cultural resource management, and GIS utilities - An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
