Job Responsibilities

Monitor campus activities and events; uphold all campus and District rules and regulations.

Assess campus buildings and grounds to ensure only authorized individuals are on campus; prevent students from leaving without permission.

Build positive relationships with students and staff; support a positive campus climate.

Escort disruptive students, supervise students awaiting intervention, and deescalate altercations.

Inform relevant personnel of campus activities.

Assist safety teams at other District sites as needed.

Participate in mandatory training programs.

Maintain confidentiality, demonstrate professionalism, and follow policies when interacting with the school community.

Resolve conflicts effectively and enforce safety policies.

Identify safety hazards and suspicious persons.

Complete assignments with minimal supervision and maintain necessary records.

Follow instructions, communicate effectively, and provide courteous customer service.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships and use initiative within organizational policies.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED; experience in security preferred; must be at least 21 years old.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid Arizona Driver’s License, current Red Cross first aid and CPR certificates, and Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Skills and Abilities

Conflict resolution and safety enforcement skills.
Ability to diffuse physical altercations and identify hazards.
Record-keeping and understanding relevant laws and policies.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service orientation and ability to build relationships.

Physical Demands and Environment

Work is performed on campuses, exposed to weather, potential physical harm, illnesses, and bodily fluids. Must be physically capable of performing all essential functions.
