As an audiovisual commercial integrator, Ford AV installs systems in arenas, airports, entertainment venues, houses of worship, healthcare facilities, corporate offices, schools and even stadiums. Typical AV systems include digital signage, video walls, sound systems, and videoconferencing.

Purpose

With safety and quality workmanship as a priority, the Installation Technician installs commercial audio, video, and lighting systems as sold and to the satisfaction of the customer.

Responsibilities
  • Install LCD/DLP video projection systems, speakers, pull cabling, terminate A/V systems, harness racks, patch bays and mixing consoles; work at heights; install touch panels and speakers.
  • Troubleshoot basic audio, video, and control systems problems.
  • Self‑motivated and professional, seeking long‑term employment.
Qualifications
  • Interest in or prior experience with commercial installation in the AV industry or related field desired.
  • Prior experience with commercial construction desired.
  • Ability to solder and crimp connectors (XLR, RJ45, TRS, BNC, F‑CONN).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and AV drawings preferred.
  • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work at heights, on lifts & ladders.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must be DOT certifiable.
  • PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet).
  • Perform installation tasks in a timely and quality‑conscious manner.
  • Think and work independently and meet deadlines.
Safety‑Sensitive Position

Drug Testing

Ford is committed to maintaining a drug‑free workplace. Personnel in safety‑sensitive positions are subject to drug testing. DOT Certification

Installation technicians must pass a pre‑employment DOT physical exam for certification required for operating large trucks.

Working Environment

The work environment is representative of those encountered while performing the job. It may include driving to client sites. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Climb ladders up to 20 feet.
  • Work in small spaces and on uneven surfaces.
  • Regularly stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
