Travelling Field Mechanic

• Complete tasks assigned by the Fleet Manager or Onsite Superintendent in a timely manner.
• Keep work areas clean and free of garbage, old parts, and clutter.
• Maintain and organize the service truck and its tool inventory.
• Track hours/miles on machines and maintain accurate records of daily work, including work order paperwork.
• Perform DOT inspections on trucks and trailers.
• Stay updated with new technology related to equipment and conduct welding and fabrication as needed.
• Use proper PPE when performing tasks such as grinding, cutting, sanding, welding, or using compressed air.
• Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures.

• Minimum 1‑year experience with heavy equipment and heavy trucks.
• Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
• Ability to weld and perform fabrication work.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to diagnose air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical, and fuel systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel to worksites as needed.
• Availability to work 40‑50 hours per week as required.

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

• Union Mechanic wages – $45 – $47 per hour.
