Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking a full-time Electrician who will perform and provide lead oversight of journey level electrical work including the inspection, repair, installation and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and components.

• 30% Performs journey-level inspections, repairs, installations, service, and maintenance of electrical systems including conduits, duct systems, light and power circuits, motors, generators, transformers, control equipment, switches and other types of electrical lighting and power components
• 20% Prepares and adheres to a schedule of periodic electrical system inspections and preventative maintenance; develops and maintains specifications and documentation for electrical systems and equipment
• 20% Performs cabling and wiring as necessary for the installation of computers and other equipment; computes loads requirements against available power sources, checks blueprints on new construction and remodeling to identify possible electrical maintenance problems; servers as electrical inspector of systems and equipment installations
• 20% Troubleshoots electrical problems of equipment, systems and components; performs electrical system redesigns and reconfigures; plans and estimates costs of special projects, maintains records, logs and system documentation; requisitions electrical supplies and materials
• 10% Cleans up after work is completed; performs general maintenance work; performs other related duties as assigned

High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience performing electrician work equivalent to journey-level.

OR

High-School Diploma or GED and the successful completion of a recognized four (4) year electrician apprenticeship program, which includes hands-on training

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.

Required licenses and certifications must be maintained for the duration of employment within the classification. Licenses and certifications may be subject to renewal and/or require Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or training by the State or issuing authority.
