MGX Field Crane Technician
Location: Phoenix, Arizona – MGX Equipment Services branch.
Reports to: Service Manager.
MGX Field Crane Technicians are responsible for inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks.
Candidates hired will receive a $4,500 sign‑on bonus after 90 days of continuous service and are eligible for the Tool Reimbursement Program up to $1,500 per calendar year.
Essential Job Functions- Operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, & MEGA‑TRACK system.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
- Read, understand, and interpret operating/parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
- Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
- Properly fill out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, and expense reports.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician.
- Experience working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT & TMS Cranes;
Grove GMK European Cranes;
Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes;
National Boom Trucks preferred. - Must be able to travel 50% of the time to job sites and for training as required.
- Must have excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Perform job functions in a safe manner.
- Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required by Company policy for the job being performed.
- Know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures and rules.
- Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
- Bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management’s attention or correct those you can.
- Full‑time position with typical working hours 7:00 am–6:00 pm; overtime and weekend work may be required.
- Physical demands include exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noise; frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 40 lb.

Pay range: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour depending on skills and qualifications for non‑bargaining employees. Pay is bi‑weekly.
A customized training plan and career path is identified for each technician and provided within the first week of employment.
