Summary
Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter I to be responsible for the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principals.
Responsibilities- Set up trailers
- Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions
- Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves, set up tool trailers/conex’s, silt fences/straw bales, and set up site per erosion control plan
- Hand‑set forms and assemble gang forms
- Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations
- Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials
- Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry)
- Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform all other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years carpentry experience
- Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred
- Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and speak and understand English
- Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
