What part will you play? The Electronic Security Installation Superintendent is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects. You will coordinate with project management and field superintendents, interpret drawing packages, oversee rack and enclosure build‑outs, panel terminations, device installation, testing, and troubleshooting. You will mentor technicians and serve as the key field position for the majority of onsite work.

  • Review the BOM at the beginning of every job and identify required materials.
  • Communicate material needs with the Project Manager and Design Engineering team.
  • Maintain job within the given time frame and manage schedules.
  • Hold technicians and lead technicians accountable for timely completion.
  • Follow DIV
    28 specifications for quality control.
  • Maintain weekly communication with the Regional Supervisor and record milestones, work accomplishments, issues, site readiness documents, and inventory in One Note.
  • Address engineering questions, redlines, RFIs, and laboratory issues.
  • Prioritize time, manage multiple sites, delegate work, and keep inventory records.
  • Notify supervisors of missing or defective equipment and coordinate replacements.
  • Operate positively within the team to share knowledge.

Complexity This level of technician performs tasks on client job sites independently, coordinating with clients, contractors, and subcontractors. You will be the key and only senior field supervisor in many situations, delegating work, monitoring performance, and communicating with stakeholders.

Decision Making Authority You will often be alone on site, requiring sound judgment and good diplomacy when interacting with clients and key stakeholders.

Physical Demands You may be exposed to construction site conditions, spend at least 50% of your time on feet, lift up to 40 pounds, use ladders and stairs, and operate keyboards and test equipment. You must comply with safety regulations and use PPE.

Travel Frequent travel by car and occasional airplane trips. Must possess a valid driver’s license and own vehicle, reimbursed for mileage. Local travel varies up to 70‑90% of the job, with remote travel up to 30%.

  • Maintain and wear appropriate PPE as required.
  • Ensure hazards are addressed and rectified promptly.

Education/Certifications

  • High school or GED.
  • Associates/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Lenel Certification preferred.

Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • 3+ years of related experience and administrative capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Teams, Outlook, One Note, Blue Beam/Adobe Reader, programming matrix, SRDs, UILs, JHAs, THAs, RHAs, RFIs, Redlines.
  • Understanding of access control, CCTV, ACS, intercom, device installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Honeywell, Software House, Bosch, DMP.
  • Mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for electric locking hardware.
  • Network interface access for devices and PC administration.
  • Clean driving record and ability to operate a vehicle.
  • Clean criminal record; able to hold security clearance (DCJS, TS, etc.).
  • Active passport or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to work indoors/outdoors, lift 40 lbs, use ladder.
  • Lenel Certification preferred.
