Summary:

The General Laborer - Firestop Installer supports construction site operations by assisting project managers, supervisors, and skilled trades with a variety of manual labor and material handling tasks. Responsibilities include site preparation, receiving and staging materials, operating basic equipment, maintaining a clean and safe worksite, and assisting with general construction activities. This role requires attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment while following company policies and safety procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Monitoring a control panel to identify issues or emergencies.
• Taking quick action when issues or emergencies arise.
• Answering incoming calls to communicate the issue and take appropriate action.
• Maintain a level of alertness with focus in a quiet environment.
• Conduct inspections of material handling equipment (MHE) and vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming materials and shipments.
• Ability to remain seated and attentive for extended periods.
• Pick, stage, and prepare outbound deliveries accurately.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
• Perform heavy lifting and manual material handling tasks as required.
• Assist with site preparation activities, including staging and moving materials.
• Operate basic hand and power tools as needed.
• Perform general labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying materials, and assisting with installation activities.
• Support the setup and dismantling of temporary structures and equipment.
