Who We Are

DBA Construction is an Arizona-based heavy civil contractor specializing in concrete, structures, roadway, and infrastructure projects. We take pride in building quality work, developing our people, and creating long-term career opportunities for employees who want to grow in the construction industry.

The Opportunity

As a Mechanic apprentice, you’ll support our shop and field mechanics by helping keep the fleet running safely and reliably. This entry-level role exists to build your skills while you contribute to preventative maintenance and repair work on heavy civil equipment.

Key responsibilities include assisting with scheduled services, basic repairs, inspections, and documenting equipment/component conditions and the repair process as directed. You’ll learn systems like brakes, driveline, and transmissions while working around diagnostic tools and computerized instrumentation.

Required qualifications/skills:
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience around equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly (verbal and written) with teammates and supervisors
  • Demonstrated technical competence and willingness to learn
  • Dependable attendance, personal responsibility, and a team-first mindset

If you’re ready to grow into a Heavy equipment diesel mechanic and take pride in work that matters,

Your Typical Shift

Your day as a Mechanic Apprentice starts by checking in with the lead mechanic and reviewing the work plan. You'll spend your early training on a lube truck, learning how to service and maintain the heavy equipment and diesel trucks in our fleet. You'll get hands-on experience with inspections, routine service, parts, tools, and safety procedures while asking questions and working under guidance.

As you gain experience, you'll move into the shop to learn troubleshooting and more advanced repairs. Throughout the day, you'll keep notes, help keep the work area organized, and prepare equipment and materials for the next job.

Benefits That Matter

DBA Construction offers a practical benefits package designed to support you on and off the job:

  • Medical and Dental coverage, a 401(k) plan, and Life Insurance.
  • You’ll also have Paid Time Off so you can recharge and handle life outside of work.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration Document
