Software Engineer, Backend; Developer - x402

Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) is building developer tools to bring the world onchain. Today, onchain development is slow, risky, and painful, even for the most experienced onchain developers. Our goal is to bring a million developers onchain by creating an easy to use and trusted developer experience. We build API and SDK products for developers like wallets, paymaster, staking, stable coins, onchain data, and more.

• Defining the x402 protocol standard for the internet-native payment protocol.
• Building and maintaining x402 related products such as the x402 SDK, Payment MCP, Payment Facilitators, and onchain payment protocols.
• Collaborating with open-source contributors to evolve the standard through Git Hub discussions, issues, and PR reviews.

• 3+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on backend development working closely with frontend engineers; crypto experience is a plus.
• Strong experience in building scalable and secure software and SDKs.
• Proficiency with Golang, Typescript, and Python.
• Knowledge of Web3 technologies, stable coins, smart contracts, and wallets.

• Experience with AI and emerging AI protocol standards (MCP, A2A).
• Track record of building and maintaining impactful open-source projects.
