Our client is seeking a Senior Java/Python Backend Engineer (Software Engineer 4 - Contingent) to join their team. Pay Range: 65-70/hr What's the Job?

Design, build, and maintain backend services that process real-time data streams and support event-driven architectures. Develop and integrate RESTful APIs using Java and Python to enable downstream systems and data workflows. Implement reactive, nonblocking services using Spring Web Flux to ensure high-throughput, resilient processing. Work with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink to build streaming pipelines, event ingestion, and continuous processing logic.

Collaborate on AI/agentic components by applying LLM and prompt engineering concepts to backend workflows (as applicable to the team’s approach).What's Needed?4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education. 4+ years of Java experience, including proficiency with Spring / Spring Boot. 2+ years of Python experience focused on backend or data-driven development.

Deep understanding of reactive programming, including hands-on experience with Spring Web Flux. Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven architectures and experience with Flink for stream processing and data pipelines.
