Software Engineer, Memory & Search

For our client, we are seeking a Staff+ Software Engineer, Memory & Search to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.

This role will shape core product experiences that help users interact more effectively with advanced AI systems across the company’s products. You will own highly visible features that influence how memory, retrieval, and search capabilities work together to improve relevance, recall, and overall user experience. The position partners closely with product, design, legal, and engineering stakeholders to balance technical excellence, experimentation, and privacy-conscious product decisions.

Location:

Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $405,000 – $485,000 annually

• Design and implement memory and search features across the company’s products
• Conduct product experiments to validate hypotheses and iterate based on user feedback
• Define how the AI system uses memory and retrieval in its agentic loop
• Establish and monitor metrics to assess the effectiveness of memory features
• Enhance search relevance and recall through advanced retrieval techniques
• Collaborate with product, design, and legal teams to ensure compliance with user consent and privacy requirements
• Elevate product quality through rigorous design and code reviews

• 5-7 years of experience building user-facing products at scale
• Proficiency in Python and Type Script for backend and frontend development
• Experience with agentic systems or LLM-powered products
• Proven track record of taking products from concept to launch
• Ability to define product metrics and conduct experiments
• Strong product judgment and attention to user experience
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams
