Assist in the long‑term retention of memberships by supporting swim team programs and activities for existing members and attracting new participants.
Summary Of Essential Functions- Attract and retain members by consistently providing excellent customer service.
- Lead by example, consistently conveying a positive attitude, passion, and pride in work.
- Interact with employees, members, and guests in a manner aligned with the People, Places, and Programs components of the Village Standards.
- Assist in organizing club special aquatic events and programs.
- Work with the Aquatics Director to develop clinics and lessons.
- Recruit and engage members in swim meets/programs.
- Be at the swimming area at least 15 minutes before instructional periods to prepare tools, supplies, and activities.
- Maintain regular inventory of all swim supplies and equipment condition and need.
- Attend swim meets when directed by the head coach.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in proper working order and in an orderly, clean manner.
- Maintain the pool area in a clean and orderly condition and perform other duties as assigned.
- Swim coaching experience.
- Motivated and energetic demeanor.
- In-depth knowledge of the four competitive strokes and the ability to teach those skills.
- May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Required to maintain a physical presence within the Village to perform assigned duties.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire through company training.
- Life Guard and/or USA Swimming Coach certification.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent swimming, standing, walking, grasping, bending, kneeling, and climbing pool ladders. The role involves substantial repetitive movements, including twisting, stretching, reaching, pulling, and pushing. It also requires the ability to convey detailed spoken instructions accurately and loudly, and to perceive sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction. The job necessitates close visual acuity to watch members in a pool setting and to coach lessons.
Physical RequirementsSwimming, walking, and standing are required daily. Frequently lift and/or use force up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or use force up to 50 pounds.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in an athletic club environment with moderate to high noise levels and hot weather conditions.
