As our organization continues to grow, we are expanding our fleet leadership to support crews in multiple regions.
Position OverviewThe Director of Fleet is responsible for leading and overseeing nationwide fleet operations. This role manages fleet strategy, asset lifecycle, maintenance programs, compliance, and logistics to ensure safe and reliable equipment availability for field operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all fleet operations across the U.S., including strategy and performance management
- Manage full lifecycle of fleet assets (acquisition, registration, utilization, disposal)
- Oversee maintenance programs with in-house technicians and mobile service teams
- Optimize fleet logistics to support nationwide field deployment
- Track and improve fleet performance metrics (uptime, utilization, cost efficiency)
- Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, and all transportation regulations
- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Procurement to meet business needs
- Manage fleet budgets, forecasting, and vendor relationships
- Implement technology solutions for tracking, telematics, scheduling, and analytics
- Lead, train, and develop fleet department staff (managers, coordinators, technicians)
- 10+ years of fleet management, logistics, or operations experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing multi-regional or national fleets
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance best practices and DOT compliance
- Experience with fleet management software and telematics solutions
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel regularly
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or related field
- ASE Certification or equivalent fleet maintenance credentials
