This role is part of the UK Best Available Techniques (BAT) team, responsible for supporting the drafting of BAT Conclusions, liaising with Technical Working Groups and presenting a final document suitable for publication as a new, UK‑wide environmental standard for industry.
Responsibilities- Support the drafting of BAT Conclusions.
- Liaise with Technical Working Groups.
- Present a final document suitable for publication.
- Coordinate the work of technical authors.
- Manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Travel and overnight stays may be required.
- At least 5 years working experience with solid understanding of environmental regulation across industrial sectors.
- Good understanding of process engineering and environmental issues.
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, including IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
- Experience coordinating and reviewing publication of technical documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Planning, prioritising, and organising tasks and resources.
- Ability to respond flexibly to challenges and build consensus.
- Collection and technical analysis of complex industrial data.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Active listening and clear communication.
- Prepares written reports accurately.
