We’re seeking a dedicated professional with proven street works inspection experience to join our Street Works Compliance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the integrity and safety of North Yorkshire’s highways.
The RoleThe successful candidate will:
- Carry out inspections of live work sites and reinstatements under the New Roads and Street Works Act.
- Ensure compliance with permits, licences, and statutory requirements.
- Support the Coordination of works to minimise disruption for road users and pedestrians.
- Record inspection results accurately and take enforcement action where necessary.
- Investigate customer enquiries and third‑party reports.
- Support winter maintenance operations, including road condition checks.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have proven experience in street works inspection or a similar role (highways/civils supervisor).
- Hold a current SWQR supervisors qualification.
- Have strong knowledge of relevant legislation: NRSWA 1991, traffic management act 2004, highways act 1980.
- Have excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided).
