Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you an experienced IT Support Technician looking for a part-time temporary opportunity in the Pickering area?

We are working with an established organisation that is looking for a friendly, proactive and hands-on IT Support Technician to join its small IT team for approximately 8 weeks.

Working 25 hours per week, you will provide day-to-day IT support to colleagues, helping to resolve straightforward technical problems and ensuring users can get on with their work. You will be the first point of contact for everyday IT queries, escalating more complex issues to the IT Manager when required.

This is a varied role where your ability to communicate with people will be just as important as your technical knowledge. You could be setting up a laptop one minute and helping someone resolve a Microsoft 365, password, printing or Wi-Fi issue the next.

What the IT Support Technician job involves
  • Providing first-line IT support to users and responding to day-to-day technical queries
  • Setting up, configuring and deploying laptops and Windows 11 devices
  • Supporting users with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and One Drive
  • Assisting with passwords, user accounts and two-factor authentication
  • Troubleshooting everyday issues involving printing, Wi-Fi, peripherals, logins and desktop hardware
  • Providing patient, practical support and basic guidance to users with differing levels of technical confidence
  • Supporting users both in person and remotely where required
What are we looking for?
  • Experience supporting Windows 11 and setting up laptops or desktop equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook and Teams
  • Experience supporting user accounts, passwords and two-factor authentication
  • Confidence troubleshooting common IT issues including printers, Wi-Fi and peripherals
  • A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • The patience and ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users
  • A reliable and organised approach, with the ability to prioritise your workload

You will need to be comfortable working independently as well as part of a small IT team.

A full UK driving licence is required as some travel between local sites may be necessary.
