Overview
Production Operative with immediate starts available on a continental shift pattern. World class manufacturer supplying precision plastic components to automotive brands.
Shift patternContinental shift pattern. Monday to Friday with a 3 week rotating pattern (average 40 hours per week).
- Week 1 (Days):
Wednesday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm - Week 2 (Nights):
Monday to Wednesday, 8:00pm to 8:00am - Week 3 (Split Rotation):
Monday and Tuesday, 8:00am to 8:00pm;
Thursday and Friday, 8:00pm to 8:00am
Two paid 15 minute breaks, one unpaid 30 minute break per shift.
Key responsibilities- Set up, operate and monitor extrusion machinery to meet production requirements.
- Carry out tooling changes and machine adjustments safely and efficiently.
- Support continuous improvement by helping to develop and improve manufacturing processes.
- Carry out routine maintenance of machinery, tooling and production equipment.
- Follow quality procedures to ensure products consistently meet customer specifications.
- Promote high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Work closely with colleagues to achieve production targets and maintain efficient production.
- Complete production documentation and maintain accurate manufacturing records where required.
- Essential — Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or production environment; good mechanical aptitude; ability to identify and solve practical problems; positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills; able to work effectively as part of a team; good communication skills; strong commitment to quality, health and safety.
- Desirable but not essential — Experience of extrusion, plastics manufacturing, injection moulding or similar processes; experience of setting or operating manufacturing machinery; knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
