Dealership Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements, floorplan statements, and manufacturer schedules.
• Process and review deals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with yearend audits.
• Maintain and reconcile schedules for inventory, warranties, incentives, and other dealership accounts.
• Monitor cash flow, deposits, and internal controls.
• Support payroll processing and benefits administration as needed.
• Collaborate with department managers to ensure accurate reporting and timely issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and dealership accounting policies.

• Previous accounting experience in an automotive dealership required.
• Strong understanding of dealership accounting systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealer track, PBS, etc.).
• Proficiency in Excel and general accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
