Overview
The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep‑water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This work includes a 1.5 km long tunnel built by a pressurized 10.15 m diameter slurry TBM, two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore), and an offshore modular intake structure resting on the lake bed.
Responsibilities- Responsible for a portion of construction on the project, such as a section, work area, structure or work zone.
- Redaction of construction documentation (Work Plan, JHA, Specific Safety Plan).
- Participate in weekly subcontractor works meetings to plan construction activities and update the schedule.
- Enhance coordination between the allocated work zone and adjacent work zones.
- Ensure the site team and subcontractors are working with the latest approved documents.
- Record and alert on progress of the works and any deviations observed during construction work.
- Propose and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in QHSE meetings and QHSE programs, motivate personnel and ensure that staff follow QHSE policies.
- Ensure compliance of the works with safety recommendations and the measures stipulated in the Health Safety Environment Plan. Stop the works if there is a risk for personnel injury.
- Acknowledge subcontractor planning and alert on subcontractor deviations.
- Participate in formulating operating procedures, coordination meetings, 3‑week look‑ahead schedules and other project construction meetings.
- Submit documents constituting feedback relating to the works, in particular daily reports.
- Ensure compliance with protective measures including the regular cleaning of work areas, and the sorting and removal of wastes for treatment, in accordance with the Environmental Management and Waste Management Plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years experience in the construction industry, preferably on large infrastructure projects in the GTA.
- Site production and management experience.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.

- Gross annual salary between $85 K and $105 K, depending on experience and profile.
