What is the Opportunity
As part of a Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment project Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Excitation System replacement on units 5-8. Beginning in 2026 Aecon will support the validation phase design, procurement, constructability, and schedule of the Excitation System upgrade. Under the general direction of the Electrical Superintendent, the Electrical General Foreman will assist in the supervision, coordination and scheduling of construction activities for their dedicated scope and will supervise the construction project in compliance with the contract and the job cost estimate, ensuring all the work is completed safely to acceptable standards of quality and workmanship.
WhatYou'll Do Here
- Maintain excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and the public.
- Ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner in compliance with Aecon’s Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
- Assist in developing, monitoring and updating the project schedule with the Electrical Superintendent, ensuring subcontractors comply with the project master schedule.
- Utilize the project master schedule to create detailed look‑ahead schedules for foremen and subcontractors.
- Assist in developing recovery strategies when the project schedule or budget are in jeopardy.
- Plan and supervise the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project, including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools and equipment, rentals and work schedules.
- Assume responsibility for the productivity of trades and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
- Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner‑specified requirements.
- Ensure the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and the project schedule and budget.
- Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants and other contractors.
- Ensure the project is constructed in accordance with Aecon’s QA Programs and quality guidelines.
- Maintain appropriate field documentation, including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests and FWP documents.
- Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions and field engineering activities.
- Maintain lines and levels – verify as‑built conditions.
- Ensure compliance with union obligations.
- Participate in the daily and weekly review and update of the project schedule and forecast with the General Superintendent and/or Construction Manager.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
- Direct foremen, hourly trades and subcontractors in the execution of their assigned duties.
- Work at various locations in both field and office, including travel as necessary.
- Must possess 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Certification of Qualification.
- Minimum five‑year construction and subcontractor supervision experience.
- Ability to successfully supervise a construction project.
- Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements.
- Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read and understand CGC Cost Reports.
- Basic presentation skills.

The expected pay range for this role is $70.279 per hour. Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
