The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has an opening for a part‑time Instructional Assistant within the Division of Student Services. This position is located at our TCHS Pickering campus in Phoenixville, working with 9th to 12th grade students to provide emotional support in a therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, required
Experience working with secondary students, preferred
Current police, child abuse, & FBI fingerprint clearances (within one year), required before start date
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist students with varying levels of abilities and support needs with the implementation of educational and skills programming in a special education environment
Work independently and as part of a team in an educational setting
Assist the Teacher
Preparing instructional materials
Maintaining discipline and other behavior management functions
Arranging the learning environment
Assembling, adjusting, and maintaining equipment and technology used in the instructional program
Administering educational assessments
Performing other duties as assigned
Assist with Students
Working with individual students or small groups on activities assigned by the teacher
Assisting, within the constraints of specific program regulations, in the supervision of students during non‑instructional times throughout the day such as lunchtime, entering or exiting the building, etc
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 185 days per year, 6.5 hours per day

Bachelor's degree equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $18.72
Master's degree equivalent to 15 years experience on the scale = $22.41
