French Teacher/Tutor Wanted
Eager to help elementary students turn “Je ne sais pas” into “Oh la la”? Motivated to help support children’s French education outside of the classroom?
Join the team at Oxford Learning Pickering as a part‑time French teacher/tutor/coach for elementary students. This in‑person role is Monday to Friday evenings (4:00‑8:00 pm) with occasional Saturday sessions (9:00‑12:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June and continuing through the summer is preferred.
Position Requirements- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Strong background in spoken and written French and English.
- Comfortable teaching up to a Grade 9 level;
Grade 12 is preferred. - Ability to instruct sessions in French.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working with up to three students at a time.
- Must be able to commute to Pickering; relocation packages not available.
- Vulnerable‑sector screening mandatory.
- Some experience teaching or tutoring French at Grades 3‑8 (or equivalent).
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Multitasking and balancing work with up to three students.
- Teaching certification an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 3‑8 French core curriculum.
- Teach up to 3 students at different levels in a small‑group setting.
- Use the supplied curriculum; no lesson planning required.
- Deliver instruction entirely in French.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly, professional manner at all times.

Employment type:
Part‑time. Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.
Schedule:
Evenings Monday‑Friday, occasional Saturdays.
