Position: Durham District School Board LTO Teacher
Join DDSB as a Long-Term Occasional Teacher and ignite student passion for learning in grades 9-12. Teach Social Science and Humanities alongside Physical Education in a supportive setting.

At the Durham District School Board, your role will center on creating a vibrant learning environment for secondary students. You'll develop engaging lessons, monitor student progress, and build an inclusive classroom where every student feels valued. Collaborating with your peers and the broader community will elevate the learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum

• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

• Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment

• Work with colleagues, parents, and community for enhanced learning

• Modify teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs

Requirements:

• Subject qualifications in I/S Social Science and Physical Education

• Valid Ontario teaching certificate in good standing

• 1.0 FTE assignment focused on grades 9-12

• Criminal background check required upon hire

• Processing time for external hires can take up to 10 days
