Working with our joint venture partner Atkins Realis, Aecon Nuclear has been awarded the definition phase contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to assist in planning the Pickering Retube, Feeder and Boiler replacement (RF ) project. This project involves the refurbishment of four reactors and replacement of the forty‑eight steam generators at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.

The position is located in Pickering, Ontario and reporting to the Procurement Manager. The Purchasing Agent is responsible to negotiate pricing and terms for various commodities, equipment, and services for the OPG Pickering Refurbishment Project.

• Primary responsibility is to lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle to support the overall success of a project or site.
• The range of activities includes early engagement and demand planning, developing a procurement plan in support of the full project lifecycle, including the tendering process, market solicitation, negotiation, contract award and contract management.
• The position will require procurement of equipment, material & components as well as Nuclear safety related materials & components primarily for use in Nuclear Power Plants in Canada. This may include but not limited to: plate, structural steel, pipe, tubing, fittings, valves, weld consumables, electrical components & supplies, and personal protective wear.
• Review of purchase requisitions and related documentation to ensure clarity and completeness with the description of materials, components or equipment, quantity, adherence to quality assurance requirements, proper authorization of funding, delivery requirements, & desired mode of transportation.
• Preparation and issuance of standard and quality related Request for Quotation (RFQ’s) to qualified vendors based on Aecon’s Approved Suppliers List (ASL).
