Overview
Aecon is under contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to carry out the Turbine Generator Refurbishment at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. The Assessor is a highly motivated self-starter who will assist in various areas of the TGR project related to technical and planning deliverables heavily using OPG’s Asset Suite 9 program depending on project requirements.
- Work effectively in a team environment and support other assessors and project supervisors within the project
- Review and interpret project design drawings, specifications, Lists and other technical documents
- Ability to conceptualize construction plans / methodologies that define how to construct and install various mechanical piping systems and equipment
- Determine estimated construction durations for activities forecasting and project schedules
- Attend walkdowns and site visits to verify project scopes
- Navigate OPG Asset Suite 9
- Plan construction removal and installation work activities within work orders, work requests and maintenance work in Asset Suite 9 to aid in the development of Construction work packages, (CWP’s)
- Produce detailed work plans and instructions
- Assemble data for work activities
- Prepare reports and history records in Asset Suite 9
- Order material in Asset Suite 9
- Performs constructability reviews
- Liaison with Project Engineering team provide constructability inputs to designs
- Evaluate the work environment to determine which support programs are required
- Attend internal and external project meetings
- Provide guidance/input regarding work planning, execution and commissioning strategies
- Q of C 306A plumber and/or 307A Steamfitter considered an asset
- Extensive knowledge of Asset Suite 9
- Understanding of unionized work agreements
- Ability to work in a multitasking and multidisciplinary team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of piping system installations and associated welding techniques
- Ability to work with different work groups (Project Management, construction and OPG)
- Assessors must understand and be familiar with the nuclear plant equipment and nuclear procedures and policies
- Holds a mechanical certification (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 5 years working at a Nuclear Generation Station as a Mechanical Foreman (or equivalent)
- Superior time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

New - Pay Range: $66.605 per hour
- Individual pay is determined based on factors including location, education, experience, and skills. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity of the role.
