Our client is seeking up to 11 Civil Engineers who can build strong relationships, communicate and lead constantly and show creativity, who understand a professional environment and are results, quality and customer oriented.
- 8 Civil Engineers with OPG security clearance, with 2-3 of these engineers having stress analysis experience
- 3 Civil Engineers with Bruce Power security clearance.
Under Broad supervision, perform complex engineering assignments requiring originality, ingenuity and the development of new methods or resolution of conflicting objectives. Provide advanced technical support, guide and review the work of other team members. Review progress and update management as needed.
- With minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions, perform a variety of complex engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
- Ensure compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
- Independently evaluate, select and apply a variety of technical techniques, procedures and criteria using judgement in making more complex adaptations and modifications.
- Develop new or adapted products, methods, systems or models to provide added value solutions to customers.
- Research and assess best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
- Work on special projects as directed.
- Perform other related duties and tasks as required.
- Utilize existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current technologies.
- Actively participate in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for the client.
Education and Experience
- Successful completion of a 4 year Civil engineering degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- P.Eng Designation
- Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
- Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships
- Work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Strong leadership characteristics.
- A questioning attitude and the ability to self check
- Advanced proficiency with specialised software tools and programming languages as required
