About This OpportunityAfiwi Groove School is seeking an organized and outgoing Entertainment & Gigs Coordinator to help secure performance, workshop, and event opportunities for our artists, youth performers, and cultural programs. This role focuses on researching and pitching opportunities to festivals, schools, school boards, community organizations, cultural events, and corporate/community partners.
The coordinator will play an important role in expanding Afiwi Groove School’s visibility, bookings, and community impact through strategic outreach and relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities- Research and identify performance and workshop opportunities with festivals, schools, school boards, cultural organizations, and community events
- Pitch Afiwi Groove School programs, performances, and artists to potential partners and event organizers
- Conduct outreach through email, phone calls, and networking
- Build and maintain relationships with event organizers, schools, and community partners
- Help coordinate gig bookings, schedules, and communications
- Assist with preparing promotional materials, proposals, and performance packages
- Track outreach efforts, leads, bookings, and partnership opportunities
- Support event logistics and coordination as needed
- Collaborate with the Afiwi team to grow entertainment and educational programming opportunities
- Passionate about arts, music, culture, youth engagement, and community development
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
- Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable with outreach, pitching, and public communication
- Experience or interest in event coordination, entertainment booking, arts administration, sales, or community outreach is an asset
- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, online research, and digital communication tools
