Job Overview
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Service Now CMDB Administrator to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and effective management of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the data model, ensuring data quality, and supporting the overall configuration management process.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Model Management:
Lead the development and maintenance of the CMDB data model, ensuring it aligns with organizational needs and industry best practicesWork closely with the solutions architect to validate that foundational data models align with the overall application roadmapData Quality and Integrity:
Implement strong data management practices to ensure that the data stored in the CMDB is accurate, complete, and consistently maintainedEnsure data quality by avoiding Configuration Item (Cl) duplication and maintaining all relevant CMDB integration information up to dateUtilize Service Now Discovery and other tools to automate the population of the CMDB and reduce manual errorsCollaboration and Communication:
Work closely with proactive monitoring teams and any Cl discovery sources feeding into the CMDBEstablish clear communication channels between relevant teams, end-users, and stakeholders, providing regular reports on service performance, incidents, changes, and improvement initiativesCompliance and Security:
Maintain high standards for data security, ensuring that sensitive information is protected in line with internal policies and regulatory requirementsRaise compliance to audit controls and ensure the CMDB supports critical incident and change processesMonitoring and Reporting:
Monitor the health of the CMDB using Service Now’s health dashboard and other tools, addressing any issues related to Cl complianceCreate and maintain reports for stakeholders, providing insights into the CMDB’s status and performanceContinuous Improvement:
Conduct regular health checks of the Service Now instance to ensure optimal performance and identify areas for improvementStay updated with Service Now’s latest features and releases, leveraging new functionality to enhance the CMDB’s capabilitiesQualifications
Skills:
Service Now Administration:
Proficiency in managing and configuring the Service Now platform, particularly the CMDB module]Data Management:Strong knowledge of data management practices, including data quality, data integrity, and data modeling and CSDM data modelAutomation Tools:Experience with Service Now Discovery ITOM and other Discovery tools such as Dynatrace , understanding on how attributes are digested into the CMDB and Device classes.Certifications:
ITIL 4.x Certification is a Must (valid certification)ITIL certification is essential as it provides a framework for IT service management and ensures best practices in managing the CMDBService Now Certified System Administrator (CSA): nice to haveThis certification validates your ability to manage and configure the Service Now platformService Now Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – CMDB: nice to haveThis certification focuses specifically on implementing and managing the CMDB within Service Now
